My best of.....MY!!!

So here we go ladies and ladies!
My best thangs of 2010.

A lot of you will hate a lot of it.

Joanna Newsom-Have one on me
This album is epic and beautiful. People can say "annoying voice"
, and "Joni Mitchell rip-off". I however...don't think that. I think it's one of the most beautiful albums I have heard in a really long time. Once you can move on from being obsessed with the origins of a
sound, you might see how moving it is. It also helps being from northern California... because there is something so visceral and nostalgic about Joanna Newsoms music. It reminds me of summer in northern California. How hot, and romantic, and pensive it is
. Just saying.

Next would be a crowd favorite.
Beachhouse-Teen Dream.
It's good. You love it. We all miss Fleetwood Mac...so now we don't have to.
But for reals.....such a good album. It captures something. late 20-30 something angst I guess.

One of my jams of the year:
Dominique young unique-The world is mine.
Just good.
I adore Olaf Arnalds.
I know its way me...but come on...so good.
I adore her so. She is my newest love.

Since I been d.j'n. My newest love is
Lynn Collins-Think (about it)

Lets hope walking dead gets better......

All in all....Not a bad year in movie and music.
Noteworthy being:
Erykah Badu
Nicki Minaj

s'all I got.

Yay 2010.
2011 to come...with a vengeance!

Les Set

These are all of the albums I played on my very first DJ set as DJ Rob'd! Posted this cause its exciting for a gay boy who grew up in a small town in the 90's. I feel like I'm the movie Party Girl. He-he-heyyyyyyyyyy!!!

Its been a while

Since I posted something. I suppose life (drinking) got in the way of my writing (sloppily mashing the keyboard with champagne holdin hand).
Things have changed, people have changed, but one thing always remains the same....your all drunks! And I like you!

Some bullet points... I will try to go chronologically

We moved into our new house

With a new kitchen

Many amazing people visited
Got an edition to the family, Mason

we camped

We cooked, drank, and I threw up a few times. No need for a picture on that one.

Some of us got engaged!
Rachel opened an awesome business, that has beer!!!

I got a promotion....they didn't allow me to take a drunk picture of that....

And now I am awaiting winter, in therapy, planning vacations, and learning how to d.j... Tomorrow.
All in all the last year has been topsy turvy... Some times tough, tempered with the awesome!
Heres to the upcoming Thanksgiving, x-mas...and me stayin on top of this shit in 2011....the FUUUUUUUTTTTTTTUUUUURRRRRREEE...

My year end review (since everyone else has one)

My things that meant stuff to me this year.

Fever ray
She is awesome awesome awesome. Was a hard sell for me the first time I heard it until I saw the videos and what have you. Seeing her live sealed the deal that this lady is now in my list of favorite artists... Bjork, look out!

Sin Fang Bous:
I love this guy. His album is great all the way through, and he is cute to boot! I have cooked many a meal with his album as my soundtrack.

Anhony and the Johnsons-The Crying Light:
Sad and languid. Lovely. Saw him perform at the schnitzer, and I wept in my overpriced pinot gris.

Grizzly bear-Vectamist:
We all know we all loved it.

Dear Zachary:
It officially came out in October of 2008, but it was in 2009 that it ripped myself and most people I know into little piles of sad.

Ugh, no more!

It seems to be in everything this year, and I am so so glad.

A&E shows:
Intervention, Obsessed, Hoarders, Awesome.

There was so so much more... But I gotta go to work. So thats all for 2009.
Oh, and I can't forget one of my favorite things of the year.

The send off

Willow's goin away party.....We talked, we laughed, we drank, and we danced. Willow has lived here about a year and a half, but It feels so much longer, and too short at the same time. Last night people got together to celebrate just that, well that and some awesome dancin fun drinkin bang-dilly awesomeness. Since Willow has been here we have lived together, gone to Astoria, traveled to Oroville, go up to the summit of M.t St helens, gone campin, slumber partied, pub crawled, had dinner nights, roasted auggie and I (amongst others) have shared some amazing times with her. I'm going to miss my friend. She's gone too soon.
